Creating a model of an exploding dust collector

I'm very new to Caedium so I am unaware of it's full capabilities. I am working on a project to model the shape of the blast that is leaving an exploding dust collector. To simplify the matter, I've assumed that the "material" leaving is only air. I am wondering if it's possible to create a rectangular box that has a high pressure inside it and one outlet for the air to move? I am also wondering if it's possible to model the streamlines along the path of the blast zone to see a rough shape emerge? Any help or advice would be much appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Make the outlet an inlet to the CFD flow volume

Your model should start at the outlet to your pressure vessel - you don't need to model the box feeding it. In CFD terms that outlet would serve as the inlet to your flow volume. Assuming the inlet condition will be supersonic (right?) you need to set Substance->State->Compressible = Supersonic.

You can visualize streamlines starting at any geometry entity that is either part of your flow volume or added explicitly to serve as a streamline seed. I'm having a little bit of

I'm having a little bit of trouble setting up the options that you've suggested. The tutorial instructions are clear but I cannot get sensible results out of Caedium. I've made a small inlet into a very large box (to represent the environment). I don't seem to get sensible results from my simulations. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Small steps

If you haven't already I suggest you work through some RANS tutorials to get an idea of how Caedium works.

Then try setting up your simulation using incompressible flow (default). After you successfully complete the incompressible case then you can try setting up the substance state to be compressible or supersonic.
